Bold Springs Christian Methodist Episcopal Church

Abbreviated History of Bold Springs C.M.E. Church

The Bold Springs C.M.E. Church was founded on February 20, 1874 . Three trustees of the church, Mr. Willie Moreland, Mr. Clark Bell and Mr. Sam Stillwell purchased the land at a cost of $5.00.

The property included a frame building of 1,400 square feet and two acres of land. Mr. C.W. Sims deeded the property to the trustees for the use of either a church or school. For a number of years, the building served in both capacities. In 1901, the church was destroyed by fire and was later rebuilt.
